Safety information

Safety belongs at the center of treatment.

This page provides general educational information about GLP-1-based care. It does not replace individualized medical advice, prescribing information, a medication guide, or instructions from your treating clinician and dispensing pharmacy.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing.

Brunch is not an emergency service

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate in-person emergency care. For urgent medication-specific questions, contact your treating clinician or dispensing pharmacy.

Share your complete medical history

Tell your clinician about current and prior medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy or plans for pregnancy, prior reactions to medications, and every prescription medicine, over-the-counter medicine, and supplement you take. Eligibility and treatment decisions depend on accurate information.

Not everyone is a candidate

An independent licensed healthcare professional determines whether treatment is medically appropriate after reviewing the information you provide. A specific medication, formulation, or dose is never guaranteed.

Common side effects

GLP-1-based medications can cause gastrointestinal and other side effects. Commonly reported effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, and related gastrointestinal symptoms. This is not a complete list.

Serious symptoms require prompt attention

Contact your clinician promptly for persistent, worsening, or concerning symptoms. Seek urgent or emergency care for symptoms that may be severe or life-threatening, including severe or persistent abdominal pain, inability to keep fluids down, signs of serious dehydration, severe allergic reaction, or other symptoms that feel emergent.

Follow the prescribed dose

Do not independently increase, decrease, skip, combine, or otherwise alter your prescribed treatment plan without discussing the change with the treating clinician. Dose changes and medication switches require clinical approval.

Medication storage and delivery

Follow the dispensing pharmacy's instructions for storage and handling. If a shipment arrives damaged, missing, unusually warm, or otherwise concerning, report the issue promptly and generally within 24 hours after the carrier-recorded delivery time. Do not rely on general support staff to determine whether a medication remains clinically appropriate to use.

Telehealth has limits

Telehealth cannot replace every physical examination, diagnostic test, or urgent evaluation. Your clinician may recommend laboratory testing, in-person evaluation, emergency care, or another treatment approach when appropriate.

Who does what

Brunch Health operates the technology and administrative platform. Independent licensed clinicians make medical decisions and issue prescriptions when appropriate. Licensed partner pharmacies are responsible for pharmacy preparation, dispensing, labeling, counseling, and medication fulfillment.
